2025 School Bus Driver International Safety Competition

Description

The 51st Edition of the School Bus Driver International Safety Competition (SBDISC) will be held on June 26-27, 2025 in Austin; and over the next few months, NSTA will learn the identities of local champions from the USA and Canada - who will get that golden ticket to go to Texas in the summer to showcase their knowledge and driver skills in the competitive format of the 2025 SBDISC.

The Safety Competition is the industry’s most recognized school bus driver event, and NSTA is pleased to be the official host once again – building on its 2024 comeback. Hays CISD is the permanent competition site, and it continues to offer its great course and infrastructure to give drivers and spectators an amazing experience. The driving event takes place on Sunday, June 29^th, and the Austin Marriott Downtown will be the venue where participants will check in and have their orientation and written test on Saturday, June 28^th.

Additionally, the hotel serves as the place where competitors and guests will celebrate the results at the Awards Reception & Dinner on Sunday evening, June 29^th. The hotel is in Downtown Austin, within walking distance from famed 6th Street, popular shops, the hottest restaurants, and the Lake Bird Like; and it features a rooftop pool with breathtaking views and a 24/7 open fitness center. With this perfect location, Safety Competition attendees will have plenty of options to enjoy Austin in their free time. The NSTA room block link will be sent at the registration email confirmation, and a special rate will be available for the NSTA group.

Welcome to the 2025 School Bus Driver International Safety Competition Portal. Please read the instructions carefully before registering:

1) If you are a SPONSOR - select your category in registration "Safety Competition Sponsor" and then choose your level(s) in the ADDITIONAL ITEMS field. If the category is not outlined as "SOLD-OUT", it is still available. You have the option to pay by check or with a credit card. If paying by check, please remit payment no later than May 15, 2025, to maintain your sponsorship.

2) If you are a GUEST (driver's relatives, state association/sponsors representatives, or competition enthusiast) and you want to join the Awards Dinner on Sunday, June 19th at Austin Marriott Downtown, you must register before June 20th. Please select your category (items #2 for adults and/or #3 for children up to 16) and number of guests. Dinner costs $50 per adult and $40 per child. Payments should be made by credit card.

3) If you are a DRIVER, your registration will be made directly by the NSTA staff after proof of eligibility requirements and committee approval. Registration for drivers costs $175 and includes: a driver shirt, registration kit, tickets for breakfast and lunch at the competition site, and dinner at the Awards Ceremony on Sunday, June 29th, at Austin Marriott Downtown.

4) If you are a JUDGE OR COMMITTEE MEMBER, your registration will be made directly by the NSTA staff. There is no cost for registration, and it includes: a judge or committee shirt, tickets for breakfast and lunch at the competition site, and dinner at the Awards Ceremony on Sunday, June 29th, at Austin Marriott Downtown.
